In order to maintain the “Wild” African Lion Safari image all employees will be required to purchase an issued uniform. Half the cost of the uniform will be deducted from each employee’s pay cheque. Employees who work through the Labour Day long weekend will be reimbursed uniform costs on the first pay following the long weekend. Any staff who leaves prior to the Labour Day weekend will be deducted the entire cost of the uniform, including African Lion Safari’s half.
Key information:
Retail Customer Service Representative
Candidates required for gift shop locations and souvenir book sales at front entrance. Candidates should be friendly, responsible, and have excellent communications skills. Must be able to handle customer inquires and be a minimum of 16 years old.
Duties include operation of POS system/ registers and visa/ debit machines, accurate & responsible cash handling as well as cleaning, inventory and re-stocking of items as required. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Previous cash experience an asset.
Head Cashiers / Assistant Head Cashiers
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing, responsible, a team player and be able to take initiative. Must have excellent communications/ organizational and mathematical skills. Must also be able to handle customer inquires and concerns.
Duties can include working on POS system/registers, balancing daily cash, counting floats, supervising staff, distributing change and assisting as required. Must be able to handle cash accurately, and work independently with little supervision. Previous experience in a similar position would be an asset. Must be bondable.
Food Service Cashiers
Candidates must be outgoing, friendly, and responsible. Should have good communication, mathematical and customer service skills. Must be able to handle customer inquiries. Previous cash experience an asset. Must be 16 years of age.

Food Service Crew Chiefs
Candidates must be customer service oriented, have excellent communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Individuals will be required to assist supervisors with any customer concerns, training of staff, and supervision of various locations. Candidates must be bondable, have some supervisory experience, and be able to work independently with little supervision.
Food Service Supervisors
Candidates must be highly motivated, energetic and be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must also have excellent communication skills and be very organized.
Duties include assisting with staff supervision, inventory, opening and closing of the restaurant and its outside locations, and cash controls & balancing. Ensure that breaks/lunches occur in a timely manner and aid in maintaining a high standard of quality, service and cleanliness. Applicants should have at least a year previous experience in the fast food industry.
Food Service Stock Room
Individual required to organize and manage incoming and outgoing stock.
Candidates should have excellent organizational skills, be able to work with little supervision, and be able to do minimal lifting.
Food Service Lot & Lobby
This position is ideal for candidates just entering the work force. Candidates are required to maintain a level of cleanliness throughout the dining room and patios.
Individuals should be friendly and customer service oriented. Minimal lifting and bending.
Ticketbooth Cashiers
Candidates must be outgoing, friendly, and responsible. Should have excellent communication, mathematical and customer service skills. Must be able to handle customer inquiries and work in a fast paced environment. Previous cash experience an asset. Must be 16 years of age.

Head Cashiers/ Assistant Head Cashiers

Must be able to handle cash accurately, and work independently with little supervision. Previous experience in a similar position would be an asset. Must be bondable.
Mechanical Assistant (Student position – seasonal)
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing, flexible and willing to work as a team. Duties include assisting the mechanics in the daily repair and maintenance of all safari vehicles, boats, trains, lawnmowers and other equipment.
Assist in inventory, ordering, pick up and delivery of materials, and cleanliness of mechanical work area. Must have valid driver’s license, experience in small engine repair an asset, have to own basic mechanical tools.
Washroom Crew
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing, have a positive attitude and be a team player. Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
Duties can include maintaining sanitary requirements of all washroom facilities and restocking supplies. Will also be doing light maintenance around the outside of buildings which may include washing windows, power washing sidewalks and watering hanging plants.
Washroom Supervisor
Candidates must be motivated, a self-starter and a team player. Must also have excellent communication skills. Supervisory experience would be an asset.
Duties to include supervising a staff of 7 to 9 members. Candidates will be assisting staff in their daily duties of maintaining washroom cleanliness. Will also be scheduling staff, providing direction & motivation and will be maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies as required. This is a very hands-on position.
Grounds Maintenance
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing and will to work. Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
Duties to include cleaning and maintaining park grounds, grass cutting, painting, collecting garbage, directing traffic, parking cars, and other duties as assigned. Some shift work may be involved.
Tour Guide
Candidates must have excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to handle visitor inquiries & complaints. Should also be energetic, friendly, outgoing, a team player and be able to work independently. Candidates should also like to work in various weather conditions. Must be 18 years or older.
Tour guides will be trained to drive our safari tour buses, boats and train, while giving informative tours at the same time. Candidates must like working with people as there is daily interaction with our visitors. This department is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all the above vehicles. Must have valid driver’s license.
Training for these positions to start weekends in March or early April. Hours for this position are very weather dependent.
Playground Attendants
Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old. Must have a valid First Aid certificate and enjoy working with children. Should also be friendly, outgoing, able to handle visitor inquiries and able to administer First Aid if required.
Duties to include supervising children in our Misumu Bay Wet Play and Jungle Playground areas. Will also include general cleaning of equipment and reporting any equipment in need of repair.
Playground Supervisor
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing, have excellent communication skills, have ability to handle visitor inquiries and be able to administer First Aid if required. Some supervisory experience and water park experience an asset.
Duties to include supervising/ scheduling playground staff, ensuring breaks/lunches are occurring in a timely manner, assist in completing year end performance reviews, ensure sufficient stock of first aid and cleaning supplies, and conduct and record daily inspections of all wet play and playground equipment and structures.
Animal Attendants-Farm
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing and a team player. Must be a minimum of 18 years old and physically fit. Must have a valid driver’s license. Relevant background and education would be an asset.
Duties can include cleaning & disinfecting animal quarters, handling hay & grain products to assist in feeding livestock, assisting in repairs of fencing and housing, operating remote gates, general labour, operating farm machinery and other duties as assigned.
Parrots & Birds of Prey Staff
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing and a team player. Must be a minimum of 18 years old and physically fit. Must have valid driver’s license. Relevant background and education would be an asset.
Duties can include cleaning and disinfecting cages, feeding birds, general labour such as cutting grass, painting cages and other duties as assigned. Candidates may assist with daily bird shows.
Animal Handler (Seasonal)- Elephant Dept.
Candidates must be physically fit, have strong communication skills, be comfortable in front of large audiences and excellent customer service skills.
Duties can include cleaning and disinfecting animal quarters, preparing feed and assisting in feeding livestock, assisting in repairs of fencing and housing, general labour, and operating farm machinery. Loading / unloading children for elephant/pony rides. Other duties as assigned.
Elephant Handler (Full Time)- Elephant Dept.
Assist with the daily feeding and cleaning of animals and enclosures, conduct specialized procedures such as hoof trimming, assist with the handling of elephants to facilitate sample collection, lab testing and reproductive efforts, socialization, environmental enrichment, health care, husbandry and training of animals and the monitoring of environmental factors, ongoing observation and documentation.
Wage $20.00/hour
44 Hours per week
Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience with elephants.
Prior experience with large animals.
Proficient in the English language.
Valid PAL an asset.
First Aid Certificate.
Drivers license (AZ would be an asset).
Pets’ Corner Staff
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing and a team player. Must be a minimum of 18 years old and be physically fit. Must have a valid driver’s license. Relevant background and education would be an asset.
Duties include cleaning, feeding, raking, shoveling, sweeping, disinfecting of pens, carrying hay bales and food buckets. Candidates must be able to interact with customers to answer questions, provide information, will be required to fill pellet machines, clean / stock hand wash stations, and pick up garbage.
May occasionally assist with birds and primates on islands.
