Travel Tips you should know

  • Driving

In Ontario, wearing a seat belt is required by law. Distances are measured in kilometres, where 1 kilometre equals 0.62 miles. For most city driving, the speed limit is 50 km/h (31 mph), while on highways, it ranges from 80 km/h to 100 km/h (50-62 mph). Gasoline is sold by the litre, and 1 U.S. gallon is equivalent to 3.785 litres. To find the U.S. price per gallon, multiply the Canadian price per litre by 3.78.

  • Language

Canada has two official languages: English and French. In our region, English is the predominant language spoken by the majority of residents.

  • Currency

The official currency is the Canadian dollar and it is suggested to exchange your U.S. dollars for Canadian dollars. Currency exchange services are available at banks throughout the region. African Lion Safari accepts cash (both Canadian and U.S.), Interac, Visa, and Mastercard, but we do not accept American Express.

  • Age of Majority

Legally, you must be 19 years old and have a valid photo ID to enter any drinking venue or to buy alcoholic beverages.
