African savanna elephant

• Larger ears shaped like the continent of Africa
• Rounded heads
• Tusks are curved outward
• Both males and females can have tusks
• 4 toenails on their front feet and 3 on the back

African forest elephant

• Overall smaller
• Rounder ears
• Tusk are straighter and point downward
