Yes! African Lion Safari has re-opened with a modified experience. Our drive through Game Reserves and walking area is open to visitors. Please be advised that Misumu Bay Wetplay, playgrounds, tours and presentations still remain closed to the public. African Lion Safari is open select dates in October! Paypal is the online platform that the park uses for its e-commerce site. Creating an account for Paypal is quick and easy. After signing up with Paypal, users are able to link their credit card, Visa Debit Card or bank account (if they choose) into the Wallet section of the Paypal account.

The 9 km of drive through Game Reserves takes approximately one hour to enjoy!
The health and safety of all visitors is African Lion Safari’s top priority. Visitors can continue to enjoy our drive through in the comfort of their own vehicle. African Lion Safari has minimized person to person contact at our Ticketbooth with the sale of prepaid tickets online.
Although face coverings are not required in your own vehicle, face coverings will be required inside all buildings (restaurant and gift shop), when using our washroom facilities or when speaking with a staff member. Visitors are expected to bring their own face coverings.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 some animals, like our troop of baboons, will not be on display in the Game Reserves. African Lion Safari reserves the right to change animal displays without notice.
No, each bird and animal at African Lion Safari receives a special diet that is prepared by our staff to meet their daily dietary needs. For the health and safety of our animals, we ask that you do not feed them. The consumption of human food can harm them.
Washroom facilities will be available prior to entering the Game Reserves as well as in our Mombasa Market Restaurant. All guests over 2 years of age must wear a face covering when using washroom facilities. Enhanced cleaning measures are performed for all facilities, washrooms and high touch areas..
For the safety of our birds and animals, staff and other guests, pets are not permitted in our drive through Game Reserves or on African Lion Safari property. Please leave all pets at home. Kennels are not available at this time.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, our Safari Tour Bus is not available to the public. All visitors must drive through and remain in their own vehicle.
Yes! Our walking area, down Tusker Trail, is now open to visitors! Visit our Pets’ Corner area, our Birds of Prey Conservation Area and some of our Asian Elephants. Stop by our Gift Shop, underneath Kenya Gate, and visit our restaurant for several take away options! All tours, presentation areas, splash pad and playgrounds are closed to the public.
Due to COVID-19 and capacity restrictions, visitors may drive through the Game Reserves once only.
Yes! Select food locations are now open throughout the park for take away items such as pizza, burgers, fries, ice cream and of course, funnel cake!

Once you receive your Print At Home tickets e-mail, you can show it directly on your mobile device, with barcodes visible, or print it out and have it ready for us!
African Lion Safari has a no refund policy.
No, we do not offer rain passes or rain checks due to inclement weather. African Lion Safari’s drive through Game Reserves operate rain or shine.
Unfortunately at this time, visitors may not upgrade to a Season Passport. In order to comply with Public Health guidelines, it is not possible to safely manage our Season Passport program for both our staff and visitors.
Should you have pre-purchased Season Passports, please have your Order # ready upon arrival at Ticket Booth. If we had photos on file from a previous year, we will have your cards printed and ready for you. Otherwise, you should have received an e-mail from our staff requesting photos to be sent in.
No – you are welcome to come any time between our hours of operation.
Yes, we have wheelchairs available to rent for $5.00 at our Safari Outfitters Gift Shop, located underneath Kenya Gate! With each rental, a security deposit is applied, and refunded when the rental is returned. All wheelchairs will be cleaned and sanitized before each use.
